As a young child, I loved working with children- from church nursery to babysitting- I knew I wanted this to be my career. After nearly two decades working in Early Childhood Education, I have found a new passion- teaching through stories. I have dedicated myself to understanding how children learn and finding ways to spark curiosity. Children ask big questions and are more capable than we sometimes realize. My stories aim to answer those big questions and invite deeper learning, more exploration and connect pure joy and laughter with every book.

As the owner of Creative Learning Childcare and Preschool, one of the highest-rated home childcare programs in Iowa, I have spent 14 years fostering a safe, supportive and stimulating environment for children. My expertise and commitment to quality care earned me a seat on the Governor of Iowa’s Childcare Task Force, where I worked to shape policies that benefit families and childcare providers across the state.

When I’m not writing or running my childcare, I enjoy homeschooling my two children, overspending at bookstores and gardening.
